The Tramontane, a symbol of Cavalaire!
The history of this boat, commonly reffered to as a pointu, begins in 1964 when it was built for Mr Guerry, a fisherman from Cavalaire After thirty years of service to the fishing industry, the pointu was bought by the town.
It was then that the association “Les Amis du Pointu” was created in 1993 with the aim of restoring the yacht and equipping it with a lateen rig… sa that people could sail on it !
It’s possible to climb aboard the Tramontane and learn to sail under lateen sails during excursions organised by the association “Les Amis du Pointu”.
