On a daily basis
  • Sort your waste: glass, cardboard, plastic bottles, metal cans and tins,compost… To view the sorting guide, click here. For more information, please refer to the dedicatewebsite
  • Turn off lights in unoccupied rooms, adjust your heating or air conditioning.,
  • Don’t leave appliances on standby
  • Don’t throw your cigarette butts outside, in the car,
  • Turn off taps when brushing your teeth;
  • Use natural insect repellents: chemical sprays are harmful to the environment, try using citronella to repel mosquitoes.

During your activities

  • Respect the environment and protect the local ecosystems: never leave litter on a hike or on the beach, and always sort it.r,
  • • Limit your excursions to observing the flora: walk on the paths and do not pick the flowers.
  • Choose sun creams instead of oils: oils form a film on the surface of the water, slowing down photosynthesis and therefore the growth of coastal plants, while creams dissolve more easily in water.
  • Don’t throw cigarette butts on the beach: a cigarette butt can last up to 12 years, so remember to bring a pocket ashtray.

During transport

  • Drive economically: CO2 emissions are bad for the environment: drive at a constant speed, avoid using the air conditioning and keep your tyres well inflated.

  • • When you’re on the spot, make the most of public transport and “soft” transport modes (cycling, walking): you’ll save money by leaving your car behind and you’ll help improve the quality and benefits of the air on the French Riviera! Don’t forget the free shuttle service at Cavalaire during high season!
